OUT WITH LANTERNS

example, category, and, terms

Darkest Night, My Soltice.

The dark seeps into my bones,

Becoming the stability that keeps me standing.

I live for the night, for the cold wind rustling the branches on the windows of the abandoned house next door.

The darkness invites me into a time where I am needed by none but my own heart and it’s banging on my chest to be let out and cherished. Nurtured.

The darkest night used to be dreadful. Now it’s a sharing a cozy blanket and a cup of bedtime tea together kind of friend.

Supportive

Calming

Quiet

Waiting.

It lends its time and gives itself selflessly so I can live.

And the sun will come and begin to linger longer and I will soak up that glorious warmth. But I will still ease into my night time friend.

You are to be celebrated on this solstice, darkness.

For today is your day and many will revel the gift that you are to us.
